PhD
thesis (details here): Imaging
and interpretation of complex geological structures using the Magnetotelluric
method. Head: professor
Pierre Andrieux, Pierre et Marie Curie – Paris VI University. Application used
data obtained on Vulcano – Aeolian Islands.
A.T.E.R.
(temporary position for teaching and research), Applied Geophysics Department, Pierre et Marie Curie – Paris VI University, 1998-2001:
- electromagnetic methods: MagnetoTellurics (Samtec
2, Stratagem), VLF (Iris
Instruments), Slingram-type methods (EM-31, EM-34), Ground
Penetrating Radar (Trimble Pulse
Ekko), Time-Domain ElectroMagnetics (Geometrics, Temfast)
- electric sounding and mapping methods: Schlumberger, Wenner
- magnetism (Geometrics
gradiometer), gravimetry
- seismic refraction (24/48 channel Terralok Mark 6)
- teaching: geophysical
prospecting methods, Earth physics, rock properties
Joint
MT and TDEM soundings campaign, Reunion Island, 2001:
- 5-component MT:
Samtec 2 equipment (modified by the
EOST-Strasbourg team; natural source), and Stratagem (CSAMT –
Controlled Source Magnetotellurics)
- TDEM - Time Domain Electromagnetics (Temfast equipment)
- MT (pre)processing, spatial
filtering, 1D-2D inversion, 1D-3D forward modelling, 2D-3D imaging
Seismics:
- 3D seismic data interpretation, 1997, 1998: "Stratimagic University Challenge" . CGG (Compagnie Générale de Géophysique) and its branch
Petrosystems developed a tool for reservoir seismic facies classification,
seismic attributes, etc. Our team worked on a 3D-high resolution seismic block
obtained in a gas storage area, for the account of Gaz de France. Sun-Solaris environment.
- “Cartographie
de données sismiques 3D issues de stations de pointé”. 4 months training period at Elf Aquitaine Production
(Total), Pau,
France. 3D seismic interpretation, mapping, geostatistical variability
of high spatial resolution data (kriging).
